Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
The second in a series of 3, this painting was created with lots of imagination and thought using lots of color, shape, and form. Arriving at that final stopping place is always the question when abstracting, but the last application proved to stop me in my tracks. Do you dream in color? I see color everywhere I go and imagine placing it next to complimentary colors that make a painting vibrate. This series of paintings is no exception.
Art is life and life is art. at least, that is my philosophy. And for me, art is spiritual. Seminary educated, I have studied and learned a few things about God and the spiritual. But making art transcends all of this. Intuitive in its creation and ethereal in nature, I believe that art can carry us from the mundane and transport us to a utopic realm, boundless and without rules - a place of hope, expansion, and unlimited possibility. As an artist, I go on a new adventure each time I make art. The process transposes me. And if I get out of the way and allow myself the freedom to reflect the image of God in the creative process, something magical happens on that canvas. Call it catharsis or whatever, but art appears as I persevere. And...
